several times a day we feel the guilt and sorrow of leaving you then returning honestly too late to make it up to you then fourteen months later you fall down die adding to the already deep grief of having lost our sister father and more recently after you our mother not to mention earlier loses which simply makes our experience one shared by most and nothing we can do comforts amidst breathless disintegration and the emptiness of being forever thus blocked full and final as we all must know we are going to be soon enough already gary lundy(they/them). their most recent book, each room echoes absence was published by Foothills Publishing (Spring 2018). His poems have appeared in a variety of magazines and journals including The BeZine, Vallum, Field, Ethel, and Oxidant | Engine BoxSet Series 4. lundy is a retired English professor and queer living in Missoula, Montana.
