RAGE first sober Christmas party left me boiling alive themed cocktails champagne cheers every. single. person. drinking except me headed home, careening through traffic furious, wild eyed house quiet, empty no one to see me kicking doors in slamming elbows into the wall swinging a mag light like a bat beating the wooden furniture shrieking, erratic, unrelenting, profane why me why me why me LATELY i am inside out looking at grief over my shoulder i wish i was less entrapped less attached more intact WHO AM I brain baking fears of wellness slip knot success waiting for that damned shoe to drop who am I without this blackened bodysuit of shame who am I to run who am I to heal Haley Rose Guthrie is a poet living in Kansas City, Missouri.
