12/8/2024 Poetry by Malachy Moran Vincent Parsons CC
Dear Me [Coked up and Spun Out at Sixteen Years Old] I don't think that even back then [which to you is now and to me is so long ago that the city that you live in now is not now anymore the city that it was then] that anyone still wrote letters. But I wanted you to know, like I now know, but you never knew, that the person you hated [you, you are the person you hated back then] turns out alright in the end. The person you wanted to blot out with anything you could get your hands on turns out alright in the end [you, you turn out alright in the end]. And I wanted you to know that the dreams [and they are dreams for you do not know if you are awake or asleep when you have them] that you have now will never come true. But if you knew that the new dreams that you have now [now now] are so much better than you knew then I think it would make you happy. So I hope you are happy now, even though I remember how hard it was to be happy then. Sincerely Malachy Moran is an American expat currently residing in Norway with 10 years clean and sober.
