Words Are Weapons We sit here afraid to speak the truth. Afraid of the sharpness of our words, The pain we could so easily inflict. And yet our silence inflicts a different kind of pain. One that gnaws at the back of our mind. This silence comes at a heavy price. We suffer because of it. Relationships become strained until they fade. Maybe if we had spoken from the heart. The truth may hurt but it must be revealed. To love and to care always comes with a bit of pain. It's impossible to ignore. We fight, we argue, we hurt. But if we talk then wounds can heal. And through the pain we have clarity. We see people for who they truly are. And the pain we inflict is disguised beneath layers of Old pain that we experienced and never fully recovered from. Sean Sharkey Diaz has always had a passion for writing, going on to minor in Creative Writing during his time at Western Kentucky University.
