​Mario Loprete is an Italian artist. For the concrete sculptures in this series, In Cemento Veritas, he uses plaster, resin and cement on personal items. His DNA, like his memories and the anguish, vulnerability and fear of the era in which they were created, remain concreted inside, transforming the work into "urban artefacts" and the viewer into a kind of post-modern archeologist. Reminiscent of the catastrophic eruption of Pompeii, In Cemento Veritas showcases man's struggle to face tragedy, both personal and global.
