Nine Years Later
Sometimes I forget that you died.
Sometimes I think the universe lied.
Sometimes I imagine if only I’d tried
to be more like the kind of brother
who hugged and mugged all over each other
and said I love you to one another,
that, in that last second, you'd change your mind,
that, in some vision of me, you might find
that brother you could never leave behind.
