2/8/2020 Perspective by Renee Firer Richard P J Lambert CC Perspective Gouge out your eyes and give them to me so I can see me the way you do— strength where there is none. My mantra, Someone will desire me as I am. Then, Somewhere, maybe one day. Between the lines— unworthy of love, a broken record huddled under blankets, cheeks streaked with mascara. You are beautiful. Each word a blow delivered like a shock to the heart, mystifying. I am not who you think I am. You are good enough. Say it again. Renee Firer is the Founding Editor of Twist in Time Literary Magazine and co-host of The Dear World, Love History Podcast. When she’s not working on her novel, she can be found reading, napping, and trying to tame curls Medusa would envy. Her work has appeared in Drabblez Magazine, Brave Voices Magazine, and Moonchild Magazine. Follow her on twitter @ReneeFirer or check out her writing on reneefirer.com. Comments are closed.
