3/28/2021 Poetry by Anastasia DiFonzo Jason Tessier CC AND I AM RELIEVED My whole body could fit in the crevices of his voice, which grew each time someone stepped out of line. Sometimes, when my own voice got too big, he’d cut it in half, his fist slicing the air and landing on Craig’s face. I guess that’s what big brothers are for. I never really had a dad, only a king, and I his Little Princess. There’s no room for grief in this castle, just fear, then relief. Yes, he is dead and I am relieved. Anastasia is a twenty-seven year old woman living in San Diego with her two cats, Klaus and Lucy. She has been trying to write for as long as she can remember, but only recently began finding her voice in Megan Falley’s five week poetry course, Poems That Don’t Suck. Her passions include cats, coffee, candles, and words.
