Loneliness Is Not A Position of Strength It’s a one-car crash, one-armed crab blinking teardrop eyes. Water lily in need of frog. Fog enveloping your hand. Wrench without grip, stripped. Seed that can’t crack its husk. Invisible moon waiting for night. Shadow seeking shape to block the light. Anthony Cappo is the author of When You’re Deep in a Thing (Four Way Books 2022), which was awarded an Honorable Mention in the 2022 Royal Dragonfly Book Award. His poems and other writings have appeared in THRUSH Poetry Journal, Prelude, The Rumpus, The Boiler, and other publications. Anthony received his M.F.A. in creative writing from Sarah Lawrence College. He grew up in Cherry Hill, New Jersey and now lives in New York City. His work can be found at anthonycappo.com.
