12/1/2021 Poetry by Marc Pietrzykowski Tony Webster CC Come to Me Consecutively Talking to the nice woman who came to evict me is liking watching some Doris Day Kung Fu movie, all ruffled hems and top knots and who killed who’s father’s sofa. I’d much rather watch It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, or All Dogs go to Heaven, or better yet, turn the TV off. I’d much rather bedazzle some glue gun Buddhas to sell down at the Flea Market, or just give away, help the church ladies feel exotic, help them feel something other than the presence of squinty cop Jesus-- always watching, at the pool, at the ice cream shop, in the bathroom. I do what I can, and move on. Rather wonderful, this living. Can’t say where it might go better, like Bob said. Like Doris said. Like the Shaolin say, in their way, closed fist meets open palm. Marc Pietrzykowski lives and works and writes in Niagara County, NY, USA. He has published various and sundry poems, stories, and essays, as well as 10 books of poetry and 3 novels. His most recent book of poems, sanctum, and SciFi novel, Burnout!, were released November 2018, and several more will be published in 2021 and 2022.
