8/3/2021 Poetry by Phrieda Bogere spablab CC brave the bravest thing you can do is live. bite through ice, almost collapse in quicksand, begrudgingly move forward, cry a million times, convinced that what’s good won't ever last. living is tough, a search of constantly finding your place as a tiny dot amongst other beings. it’s a swarm of emotions, a deep longing to kill the pain that’s inside, cursing the god that brought you here. the bravest thing you can do is to exist. swim in the water, and move with the tides. level headed, childlike, without a care in the world, even when it’s hard, even if it feels like like the days are numbered, there is peace in knowing the bad moments don’t last. sugar rush don’t you wish we were kids again? before we were burdened with the complexities of the world, we used to wonder fearlessly. pick flowers from the garden, hula hoop until our hips were tired, smiling with our feet covered in sand. sweaty hands grip the rusted chains on the swing, we laugh loudly like ignorant fools. why did we want to grow up so fast? Phrieda has written poetry for years before making the decision to share her work with a wider audience. Her work has been featured in Brave Voices Magazine The Beautiful Space, and Writing In A Woman's Voice. When she isn't writing, she loves exercising and getting lost in a good book.
