5/25/2021 Poetry by Scott Simmons ajcustom CC Faith I don’t understand why you believe in me. When I’ve never believed in anything. I don’t think I’ll do a good deed in my life. But somehow you make me want to try. Maybe there’s hope that I can’t see yet. Or maybe it’s just bullshit I bought into. Either way it’s made me a better person. Even if I don’t get why. You’re Right To Fear Me I’m a gentle soul with a ruthless heart. I’ve been spat on many times. But live in the name of love in spite of it. And create new life from ashes I leave behind. I fight against myself to prove you wrong. It’s why I’m not the monster you wanted. But instead the man I chose to be.
