12/17/2016 Two Poems by Scott Thomas OutlarEven When Broken When suffering arises in life, whether it be physical, emotional, spiritual, or psychological, the single most important decision that can be made is to keep … moving … forward. Sometimes each step will feel like trudging through sludge, and sometimes there will come quantum leaps. This advice is, of course, beyond the pale when it comes to expressing platitudes, but I swear to God it remains ever a fundamental truth. A Fate Worse Than Death There are events in life worse than death. Pile them upon my shoulders to weigh me down. Even if I cannot walk, I swear to God I’ll continue to crawl.
